A health assessment is a longer appointment with our nurse and GP that looks at your overall health, picks up any risks early, and makes a plan to help you stay well. Health assessments are bulk billed for eligible Medicare card holders.

45–49 health assessment:
A one-off health check for people aged 45 to 49 who are at risk of developing a chronic disease, such as heart disease or diabetes. Risk factors include being overweight, smoking, high blood pressure, low physical activity, or a family history of chronic disease.
We'll look at your lifestyle, family history, blood pressure, weight and other risk factors, and talk with you about practical steps to protect your health.
75+ health assessment:
An annual check for people aged 75 and over, designed to help you stay healthy, independent and safe at home. We'll look at:
- Your physical health, medications and vaccinations
- Memory, mood and wellbeing
- Eyesight, hearing and mobility
- Falls risk and safety at home
- Social support and daily activities
Heart health check:
Heart disease is one of the leading causes of death in Australia, but many risk factors can be managed. A Heart Health Check looks at your blood pressure, cholesterol, lifestyle and family history to estimate your risk of heart attack and stroke over the next five years.
Heart Health Checks are available once every 12 months for adults aged 30 and over who don't already have heart disease. They're especially recommended for people aged 45 and over, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 30 and over.
Menopause health assessment:
If you're experiencing symptoms of perimenopause or menopause, or have been through early menopause, a dedicated health assessment gives you time to talk with your GP about your symptoms, your health and your treatment options.
We'll talk about: - Symptoms such as hot flushes, sleep problems, mood changes and irregular periods - Your bone, heart and overall health - Treatment options, including hormone therapy and non-hormonal options - Lifestyle changes that can help.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Check:
IWe welcome Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients and their families. A free health check is available for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people of all ages, from babies to Elders, once every 9 months. The check looks at your physical, emotional and social wellbeing, and helps pick up any health concerns early.
Afterwards, your GP will talk with you about the results and give you a written plan to help you stay healthy. After your health check, you may also be able to access:
- Follow-up care with our nurse
- Medicare-funded allied health services, such as a dietitian, podiatrist, physiotherapist or psychologist
- Support with medications and managing ongoing health conditions
Let reception know if you identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander, so we can make sure you can access all the services you're eligible for.
