Yarra Glen Family Clinic provides COVID-19 vaccinations for eligible patients. From 1 October 2026, COVID-19 vaccines are part of the National Immunisation Program (NIP), and free vaccines are available for people at highest risk of severe illness.
Who can get a free COVID-19 vaccine:
- Adults aged 75 years and over – one dose every 6 months
- Adults aged 65–74 years – one dose every 12 months
- Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 50–74 years – one dose every 12 months
- Adults aged 18 years and over with severe immunocompromise – one dose every 12 months
Patients who do not meet the above funding criteria may still be recommended to consider COVID-19 vaccination. However, their vaccine will not be funded under the NIP. Private vaccination may be considered following an appropriate clinical discussion with their healthcare provider.
