Childhood immunisations:
Immunisation is one of the best ways to protect your child from serious diseases such as measles, whooping cough and meningococcal disease. It also helps protect babies too young to be vaccinated and others in our community.
Free vaccines under the National Immunisation Program We provide all free childhood vaccines under the National Immunisation Program (NIP). Our nurses and GPs give vaccines at the recommended ages:
-
2 months
-
4 months
-
6 months
-
12 months
-
18 months
-
4 years
Free flu vaccines are also available each year for children aged 6 months to under 5 years.
Catch-up vaccinations
If your child has missed a vaccine or is behind schedule, we can check their records and arrange a catch-up plan.
Kinder, childcare and school enrolment
In Victoria, children need to be up to date with their immunisations to enrol in kinder and childcare. We can help make sure your child's record on the Australian Immunisation Register is complete, so you can get their Immunisation History Statement when you need it.
What to bring
-
Your child's Blue Book (child health record)
-
Your child's Medicare card or your family Medicare card
After a vaccine, we'll ask you to stay at the clinic for 15 minutes so our team can make sure your child is well. Our nurses will talk you through what to expect afterwards and how to care for your child at home.
